![]() When you finally bring him down for the second time, you’ll get to perform a Shinobi Execution and bring down Gyoubu the Demon. Use the Grappling hook whenever possible to keep on the offensive and don’t give him a chance to get too far away from the battle. ![]() He won’t change much after the first deathblow so there’s no new surprises to watch out for - just be careful, and let him come to you at the start, and only start pressing the attack when his health gets to around half and he’s already got a good pit of Posture damage dealt. Don’t be afraid of his spear swings and deflect when possible to try and break his Posture, and sprinkle in attacks from your Firecracker that also deals Posture as well as leaving him open for attacks. When he does this be sure to leap out of the way.Īs a boss, Gyoubu has a lot of health, so focus instead on slowly building up his Posture Meter, because it won’t drain that fast compared to other enemies - and the lower his health, the longer it remains. Gyoubu also has a devastating unblockable “grab” where he slams his spear into the ground before dragging it along as he rides forth in an attempt to drag you along with him. Gyoubu also has a nasty habit of bringing his spear around for a quick upwards slash that’s difficult to detect or block, as it comes naturally from his resting position - so with this in mind it’s better to attack him from your right, and avoid the side his spear is on. Hey may charge at you while waving his spear from side to side, or even couched in a jousting position that can hit you multiple times if you aren’t blocking. Gyoubu has many more attacks he can utilize - but thankfully almost all can be blocked so long as you are prepared. This means you can not only grapple to him in these instances, but deal damage in the process that usually can’t be blocked. In both cases, grappling to him can interrupt or get in under him - but more importantly, if you’ve found extra Prosthetic Tools in the Hirata Estate by now, you should have gotten the Prosthetic Esoteric Text and skill tree, which includes the Grappling Hook attack. He also has this indicator when he attaches his spear to a rope - either to throw at you like an unblockable javelin, or begins to sweep it around him in a large arc several times. This usually happens when the boss charges a good distance away from you - just look for the indicator above his head. The second important note is that there are several times when Gyoubu’s helmet can serve as a grapple point for you to close the distance. ![]() Also, there’s a good chance that as Gyoubu regains control from atop his horse, he’ll slice downward with his spear - which is hard to see when close up, so don’t get too greedy. Keep in mind this can’t be spammed - there’s a short period before you can spook the horse again, and it only works at a close distance. Gyoubu will be forced to spend several moments reigning in his horse, and this lets you score several free hits. During the battle, when Gyoubu is close up and attacking, wait for an opening between attacks or when he stops to unleash the fireworks, which will cause his horse to rear back in alarm.
